Supporters of Young Africans SC (Yanga) have asked players’ registration committee of their club to beef up the squad so that their team emerges victorious at ‘Nani Mtani Jembe 2’ match against their archrivals Simba SC to be played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on December 13.

The supporters said they are worried of Simba players and asked their team to make use of the ongoing transfer window period by beefing up the
team before facing their archrivals in the mouth-watering match sponsored by Kilimanjaro Premium Lager.

Speaking yesterday, Wazir Jittu, who is secretary general for Yanga Tandale Supporters Club, hailed the brewers for the Nani Mtani Jembe promotion, but said he is worried of Simba squad, saying they are capable of beating them.

Jittu, however, asked the players registration committee of his club to make use of the ongoing transfer window to recruit players who are capable of winning any game.

He said if his team will not beef up its squad, chances of losing the tie are high as their rivals are in the process of recruiting top players while his club is idle and last time they only recruited two players.

“I thank Kilimanjaro Premium Lager for the Nani Mtani Jembe promotion. Is a good initiative which is giving us the opportunity to watch Yanga facing Simba three times in a year, but I’m asking our club (Yanga) leaders to beef up the squad otherwise our rivals will emerge victors on December 13,” he said.

However, Bakiri Bakere, who is Yanga’s youth supporters chairman, said he is confident that his side will beat Simba.

He said he is banking his hopes on their tactician Brazilian Marcio Maximo and players Gelson Santos ‘Jaja’ and Andy Cotinho, saying their presence is a victory to Yanga .

On his remarks, Simba secretary general for Terminal branch, which is also popularly known as  Mwanzo Mwisho, Justine Joel, said his team will beat Yanga the said day.

He said his club has put more emphasis on team building as they need more trophies this year.

“Yanga beating Simba is a day time dream. There was a time our team performance was very bad but they failed to beat us and we ended drawing 3-3. This time around we will repeat what we did last year during the first edition of Nani Mtani Jembe,” he said.

Simba’s Mpira Pesa Supporters Club chairman Ustadh Masoud also said he is confident that his team will repeat the 3-1 beating at the Nani Mtani Jembe 1 last year

He said Simba has a very good squad which is ready for any event

The winning team will take home 15m/- while the losing side will get 5m/-.

Meanwhile, Kilimanjaro Premium Lager manager George Kavishe asked Yanga and Simba supporters to continue voting for their teams so that the winner is to get 80m/- .
