Vodacom Tanzania at the weekend unveiled a shop for its products, its 83rd Vodacom retail outlet in the country, in a quest to take services closer to its customers.

The new shop, the first opened in Bagamoyo District, is expected to provide a wide
range of products and services such as M-Pesa, broadband modems, prepay, post pay, sim card registration, airtime and general customer care. It will also stock a variety of the latest handsets and data devices at attractive prices.

The retail unit is also expected to serve the firm’s growing customer base, including Boko and Bunju areas in suburban Dar es Salaam. Bagamoyo is a popular tourist destination.

Vodacom Tanzania’s Head of Corporate Affairs & Public Relations, Rosalynn Mworia, said that the company was optimistic of reaching to more customers through such facilities.

“The opening of this centre is informed by the commitment to take our products and services where our customers are. We believe in making telecommunication services accessible to all Tanzanians wherever they are and make their life better. The expansion of our retail footprint is a major component of ongoing initiatives to improve customer experience on our network,” said Mworia.

Mworia said with Vodacom’s growing stable of services, there was need for more Vodacom Shops to address customer inquiries and other issues touching on the firm’s products and services one of them being ‘Kilimo Klabu’, which is meant to empower famers.

“This unit offers our customers a one-stop shop to purchase voice and data solutions in a spacious and exciting manner and at a convenient location. This will save on time spent going to distant locations for the same services and in the long run save on costs,” added Mworia.

Bagamoyo DC Mohamed Kipozi, who was chief guest, hailed Vodacom for opening modern shop and said this will save on time spending going to distant location for the Vodacom services and in the long run save on costs.
