Pugilist Syndicate of Tanzania (PST) is tomorrow expected to unveil a Tan
zanian boxer that will take part in one of the supporting bouts for the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Welterweight title fight pitting Manny Pacquiao against Chris Algieri, slated for November 22 in Macao, China.

PST president Emmanuel Mlundwa said the body had delayed mentioning the boxer as it is still struggling to raise funds for meeting transport costs to and from Macao.

“We need to collect about 4.9m/- for two tickets to China. The bouts’ organizers will only meet accommodation costs for three days - November 21-23 - and PST has to foot transport costs,” Mlundwa said.

“We still have time to raise the funds and hopefully we will manage to get the cash.”

Tanzania was given the opportunity to send a boxer that will take part in a non-title, Bantamweight bout, which will be one of the undercards to the Pacquiao versus Algieri fight and four boxers - Nassibu Ramadhan, Fadhil Majia, Mohamed Matumla and Sadick Momba - were shortlisted.

Momba, though, had to be omitted from the list as he has secured opportunity to participate in an international non-title bout against a Ghanaian opponent, which will take place in Accra later this month.

Mlundwa also disclosed that Matumla has also opted out because he does not have a passport.
Meanwhile, Dar es Salaam’s Iddi Pialali is expected to face Ramadhan Omari for the vacant PST Welterweight title at Mutumuyu hall, Bagamoyo, on December 6.

Bagamoyo-based BM boxing promotions has organized the 10-round bout, according to coordinator, Omari Yazidu.
The fight, Yazidu said, will be preceded by a six-round Super Bantamweight non-title bout between Twalib Tuwa and Richard Segere.
